Data & Assumptions
Wealth Lab Simulator uses simplified assumptions to help users explore financial planning scenarios. These assumptions are designed for education and scenario testing, not prediction.
Historical Reference Data
Asset yield, payout timing, dividend growth, price growth, and other asset-related values may be based on historical or reference data. These values can change at any time and may not represent future results.
Historical reference data is not a recommendation and not a forecast.
Dividend Income
Dividend income estimates are based on user inputs, selected assets, reference yields, payout schedules, and assumptions. Future dividend payments may be higher, lower, delayed, suspended, or eliminated.
Dividend-focused assets can still lose value. High dividend yield does not guarantee safety, stability, or future income.
Portfolio Growth
Portfolio growth assumptions are simplified. In some simulations, dividend income and capital price movement are modeled separately. Capital return may represent estimated price movement, not total return.
Actual portfolio performance can differ materially from any simulation.
Spending and Inflation
Spending estimates depend on user inputs. Inflation assumptions are simplified and may not match your personal cost increases. Healthcare, housing, taxes, education, insurance, family support, and lifestyle costs may change differently from general inflation.
Monte Carlo and Scenario Simulation
Monte Carlo and scenario simulations test many possible outcomes based on assumptions and random variation. They are not forecasts.
A high survival probability does not guarantee success. A low survival probability does not guarantee failure. Results are educational estimates only.
Stress Testing
Stress tests may model difficult years, dividend cuts, inflation pressure, portfolio declines, or other simplified events. Real crises may be shorter, longer, milder, or more severe than the app's assumptions.
Taxes and Selling Drag
Tax settings are simplified. Dividend tax, selling tax, liquidation drag, withholding tax, capital gains tax, and account-specific tax treatment can vary widely.
The app does not provide tax advice. You should consult a qualified tax professional for tax decisions.
Surplus Handling
If simulated income is higher than spending, the app may allow different surplus handling assumptions, such as reinvesting surplus, holding it as cash, or treating it as spent outside the plan. This choice can materially change long-term results.
Asset Database
The asset database is for educational reference only. It is not a recommendation list. The presence of an asset in the database does not mean it is suitable for any user.
Model Changes
We may update assumptions, formulas, data sources, and simulation methods over time. Results may change when the model is updated or when user inputs change.
